New England Disposal Technologies, Inc. (NEDT) is pleased to announce that, aftr a review of its technical and managerial capabilities and its experience by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), it has been awarded a contract to provide the DEP with 24-hour on-call time-sensitive petroleum and chemical Emergency Response services in the DEP's Central Region. This award is for five (5) years and provides the DEP with an option to renew the contract for an additional two (2) years.
The DEP's Central Region spans Massachusetts from the Connecticut border to the New Hampshire line and includes 80 towns and cities in Worcester County and parts of western Middlesex and Norfolk counties with a total population of nearly 900,000. NEDT will provide services to support this contract out of its headquarters in Shrewsbury, MA.
NEDT is pleased to announce that Ray Veronneau has joined our organization. Ray, who has over 25 years of environmental industry experience, will assume the newly created position of Transportation & Disposal Manager. In this position at Ray will oversee the continued growth of NEDT 's bulk soil and solid waste transportation and disposal business. His broad experience and regulatory knowledge will be an invaluable asset as NEDT continues to expand its services in response to the needs of its customers.
Ray is a resident of Bethany, CT and a graduate of Western Connecticut State University. Prior to joining NEDT Ray held the position of Northeast Regional Sales Manager for a national environmental transportation company. His industry experience includes sales management responsibility for regional hazardous waste management and environmental contracting businesses, operations management for a field services and remediation company, and management of a 50,000 drums per year hazardous waste processing facility.
